It’s official—Columbus is cool. And starting this spring, Ohio’s capital city is the ultimate place to chill out (800-354-2657, www.ExperienceColumbus.com).
Polar bears return this spring to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, recently voted the number-one favorite zoo in America by USA Travel Guide. Polar Frontier, an expansive area opening at the zoo, will be home to other Arctic animals, as well.
You can touch a real, massive iceberg and see twenty-plus never-seen-before artifacts at Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. The most visited exhibit in COSI history sets sail again for a magnificent voyage featuring almost one hundred new artifacts.
Columbus also is Glass City, USA, since artwork by Dale Chihuly fills both the Franklin Park Conservatory and the Columbus Museum of Art.
And that’s not all that’s happening in 2010. The Broadway sensations Chicago and Wicked will stop in Columbus. Plus, see Pierce to the Soul, a world premiere by a Columbus playwright about folk artist Elijah Pierce, who called Columbus home.
Combine all of the new attractions and special events with Columbus’ great shopping, outstanding arts scene, professional and collegiate sports, and our unique experiential tourism packages and you’ll see why Columbus is a cool place to visit.
