Looking for a leisurely afternoon and a memorable experience for your group? Located along the Ohio River west of Cincinnati, the historic river town of Aurora, Indiana offers the perfect setting. Hillforest Victorian House Museum, a beautiful National Historic Landmark overlooking the river and the picturesque town, serves a sumptuous three-course tea in true Victorian style.
Seated in the double parlors, visitors for tea can relax and enjoy linens and china table settings amid the mansion’s period furnishings. The first course is comprised of assorted finger sandwiches, followed by scones with jam and cream. Tea concludes with a variety of sweets.
Following the tea, accompany tour guides through the home to hear stories of the original family, view examples of Hillforest’s quilt, costume and furniture collection, and browse the Gift Shop. (A DVD of the second story may be viewed by anyone preferring to remain on the main level.)
Reservations are required. Comps are available for driver and escort, and costumed docents and shuttle service to entry level are available by request.
